Celt Slingers

The Celts used large amounts of slingers in battle, to support their spearmen and to weaken the enemy before a close-quarters encounter

Often made up from those Celts too young or too old to join their tribesfolk in the heart of the battle they provided a withering hail of stones into the enemy lines as well as acting as a skirmish screen.
